Article Marketing Explained
by Mike Griffith
If you've heard of article marketing but don't really have a good understanding of what it's all about, you need to read every word of this article.
Article marketing involves two things:
1.Writing an information-packed article about a topic that relates to your product or service.
2.Submitting your article to article directories or other websites for free publication.
So how do you gain by giving away your articles for free? Since each article contains a link back to your website, you are driving targeted traffic to your site where you expose them to your product or service offer
Again, because you included links in your article resource box, every website you submit to creates one way inbound links back to your site.
But that's not all. The article directories you submitted your article also have links to hundreds or thousands of other websites. And on the page your article appears on will create numerous other links along with your links on that same page.
The whole purpose in submitting your article to the article directories is to allow other website publishers and bloggers access to your content -- and your links-- and get your reader to take the following path:
1. Your article title interests the reader.
2. Your reader opens your article and starts reading it.
3. He continues reading to the end.
4. He wants to know more, so he clicks on your link.
5. When he gets to your site he likes it... and buys your product.
Now to get maximum results from your article marketing campaign, and get your reader to take the above steps your article must be grammatically correct and informative. Keep it at 450 - 600 words in length. Once you've written your article, submit it first to a high-traffic website that has a topic that's related to your product or service.
Another very effective place to put your article is on your own website. When you finish writing and publishing the article on your site, start posting your link in forums and blogs that relate to your article topic. And make sure you place that link in your signature line.
And that's article marketing explained. The bottom line is that when you use articles to help others, they'll be interested in seeing what else you have to offer on your website. When you place your link in the signature line of your article, you increase your link popularity for your site.
If you're using PLR (private Label Rights) articles, you need to make sure they are rewritten before you publish them. For help rewriting your articles for original content click here.
