7 Article Marketing Profit Tips
by Mike Griffith
Article marketing is an excellent method for generation quality, targeted leads for your business. After 3 years of writing and marketing my own articles through the various article directories, I have found several techniques that have brought excellent results for me.
The purpose of this short article is to share 7 of those article marketing tips with you. Here they are.
1. Build your list. Make sure you are using your article writing abilities, talent and time to build your list. Your writing and marketing efforts will be wasted if you fail to capture the names of prospects who respond to your offer. And that leads to the next tip.
2. Link to an opt-in page. An opt-in, lead capture page allows you to record the names and email address of those who have indicated an interest in what you have to offer. This is very important because it provides an opportunity for you to introduce them to other items you're promoting.
3. Write attention-catching headlines. Take note of different headlines you see that capture your attention, and save them in a swipe file. An attention-grabbing headline is vital if you want to get prospects to read your content and click through to your offer.
4. Optimize your resource box. Of all the article marketing profit tips, this one is the most important. Make sure your article resource box includes a strong call to action. People are not as interested in your expertise and accomplishments as they are in how your information can help them accomplish their goals. The number of times your article has been viewed indicates whether or not your headlines are working. The number of clicks indicate whether or not your resource box is working.
5. Use numbered lists. It has been my experience that, for some strange reason, people are magnetically drawn to numbers and lists. Don't ask me to explain it. It just works. Things like "10 Tips For..." 5 Secrets to..." "21 Ways to..." "15 Techniques for..." So use numbers and bulleted lists in your articles whenever possible.
6. Use subtitles. Back up your copy with subtitles. They give your article a sense of organization. And they tend to hold your readers' interest. Also, use short, easily-digestible sentences and paragraphs.
7. Don't spill ALL the beans. Your mission is to provide good content in your article, but not to tell everything. Give readers a reason to click on the link in your resource box. In other words, learn how to "tease" your readers.
If you don't have time to write your own articles, here's a website where you can get a good variety of articles, reports and eCourses on any subject -- already written for you. After purchasing them you have the right to edit them and put your name on them as author. Find out more here.
