Is there such a thing as a perfect article resource box?

Probably not.

But there are some things you can do to make your resource box more effective, and generate more targeted leads for your website and your business.

Writing a first-rate article definitely has the potential for generating targeted traffic to your website and make you a lot of money. But "potential" is not enough. In order for you to get the maximum benefit from every article you write, you need an author's article resource box.

Your resource box is your calling card. It contains all the pertinent information about you and your offer. It's your opportunity to direct your reader to your website or blog , or to the product or service you talked about in your article.

Here are seven "must haves" for a perfect article resource box.

1. Your name. This is one important item many writers forget to add to their resource box. People want to know who they are doing business with.

2. Product benefits. People are not that interested in the individual features of your product. Neither are they interested in all your personal accomplishments. What they want to know is how your product or service will benefit them personally. Tell them why they should pick your product over all the others.

3. Your website address. This is the most important item in your resource box. This is where you direct your reader to your offer.

4. A reason to click. You can't afford to be shy here. Give your readers a specific reason to click on your website link. Tell them how they will benefit by clicking on your link now. For example, "If you want to start driving targeted traffic to your blog, click the link below."

5. Your article's publishing address. Always list the URL of the website where your article is published. This gives you back links to your article and enhances your search engine ranking. This also gives readers a chance to read some of your other published articles.

6. Contact information. If you want readers to contact you, leave your email address and your phone number. This could get you a part-time freelance assignment or a writing contract with a publisher in search of freelance writers.

7. Offer something free. If you have written an eBook or a report, offer it for free as an added inducement for readers to click on your link. This helps to build trust with your audience while adding to your credibility as a serious business owner. Make sure, however, that the item you offer is directly related to the topic of
your article.

OK, you might not be able to create a perfect article resource box, but using the above strategy will insure that you get the most "clicks" for the effort you put into researching and writing your article. With a "resourceful" resource box you're now ready to start marketing your articles in article directories and other places across the web.
