Tips on Writing Website Articles
by Mike Griffith
Write briefly and to the point.
The most relevant website content relates factual information on a specific topic. Usually a one-page article - about 450 words -- is about the right length. If your articles are too long you could lose your reader's interest and cause him to click to another web site. If it's too short, you won't be able to include enough information to tell your reader what he needs to know.
Link your most relevant information.
When writing your article, link your most relevant content to further information included in your resource box or on your web site. Cover the general information you wish to pass on to the reader and make it easy for readers to locate additional information on the topic. When it comes to writing website articles, it's all about information.
A website with several brief, precise pages of articles is much better than one with 3 or 4 pages containing long, complex articles. Keeping the interest of the reader should be your top priority. The average web site visitor doesn't have a lot of time to spend finding the information they're seeking.
Create user-friendly content
This is imperative to holding your reader's interest and enticing him to keep reading. Start your article with an overall description of the information in your article. Then write your article in a short, direct style, and end it with a summary of what you think the reader has learned from your article.
With a well-designed web site, you can lead your reader to seek more information or check out your offer using links. If you're going to submit your article to an article directory, create a short resource box at the end of your article containing your name, a short bio, and a link to your website. Most article directories won't allow links within the body of your article.
Remember to include all relevant and necessary information, but don't overwhelm the reader with unnecessary details. Focus on your specific subject and keep your article brief. Choose your keywords carefully so that readers (and the search engines) will easily identify your article as containing pertinent information.
A one-page article containing precise information and links allowing the reader to easily find additional information is the key to success when it comes to writing website articles. If you're new to article marketing, here are some more tips on writing effective articles.
